Where do I even start? So much has happened in the past few weeks. Believe it or not we STILL don’t have home help sorted, we are STILL waiting on them to sort their shit out and actually start helping us. In the mean time another local person has been amazing and dropped two nights worth of meals, did our garden and organized a cleaner for us. Amazing. We were approached by a local newspaper reporter to do an article, his hope was it would generate more donations to our give a little. We told him our story, having no idea what angle he’d take or what he’d write, it came out ok and we did receive some more donations which is amazing. I even gave away the kids table and chairs as I was given another one and the lady left a note and some $ in our mailbox as she’d seen the article!
A market that Dan used to go to is doing a raffle to raise money, and my dear friend Tash is quitting coca-cola for 28 days (hopefully forever haha) to raise money for us! This is huge for her as shes drank it daily for 15 years! Dans Dad and his wife were here for just under two weeks so we were enjoying time with them as they hung out with Dan and the kids. It was really great for Dan to see his Dad and connect with him.
We had done a blood test for Dan to check everything and his hemoglobin was really low which isn’t ideal. They suggested a blood transfusion. He received 3 units which did raise his levels and gave him a bit more energy, but not as much as we’d hoped. He went in for a CT Scan last Thursday – the first since his diagnosis – and it revealed that he was actually blocked in his bowel and A LITRE of backed up fluid. A likely cause of the pain and nausea he was experiencing. We weren’t expecting that as he was still passing bowel motions, albeit difficulty. Everything happened so fast,
